I May Not Hate Blogs, But I Strongly Dislike Them

Welcome to Blogafide – the unblog, the blog that sucks all other blogs into its dense antimatter core and absorbs them. This blog exists because blogging does. After over 30% *of my Facebook friends decided to blog, I decided to do it too. Why? Because I can. Unlike most of my friends, I am starting this blog with the intention of not following through. That's right! I won't post every day! I might never post again after this one! And you know what? That's okay. Here are the main points of a blog that I can see:

To share with people who already know you things they probably already know.
To hear yourself talk about stuff and ponder your own personal depth and journey.
To air opinions out like old socks in a frenzy of curiosity to discover if they stink.

When I was in high school I was annoyed by people who said they were going to “Barnes and Nobles” and “Wal-marts” instead of the more correct singular versions of said retail giants. In order to mock those acquaintances, I began adding the letter “s” to places, too. Now I say it automatically, and although my intention to poke fun remains unchanged, the habit of explaining why I am doing so has dropped. I strongly dislike blogs. Please remember that, since I probably won't read yours, you probably shouldn't read mine. I can't lose here, so whether I ever write here again, or forget this exists and lose my password to some third-world hacker who tries to sell you mail-order weight-loss programs in the guise of my persona, I win!

So keep on keepin' on, all you proud bloggers who took all the cool names already...Because when you blog about it, fairies get their wings. And when you don't, it's okay, because no one knows the difference but you!
